Erik Kiekens
Erik could be called an “old-school chemist”. His first lab was in the basement of his parents’ home, when he was 12 years old and he has been knee-deep in chemistry since. After receiving his PhD from the University of Leuven in 1987, in the field of organic synthesis, he started working in the chemical industry in Belgium. In his search for new challenges and adventures, he held various positions and also became an independent consultant in 2010. Amongst the typical assignments, Erik worked on R&D, innovation, process improvement, production management, plant management, QC, QA, QHSE and M&A. He is also the co-founder of Inopsys and of Triple Helix Alchemy.
